It All Comes Down to This

In a few hours I’m driving from Austin to Minute Maid Park for today’s big game. I will have pics, thoughts, etc. in a blog tomorrow.

In the meantime, a few quick thoughts about today’s game:

-What a great feeling that the Cards control their own destiny today!

-Brett Myers has been really, really good in September so this game not a gimme.

-Blanton making his first start for Phils since May, and first against Braves all season.

-Hudson has posted a PQS of 5-4-4-5-3 his last 5 starts. He’s their Chris Carpenter, and maybe he will wake the dead and help the Braves get a much needed W. He is facing a good lineup however and the Braves offense has gone AWOL. Hudson has 2 quality starts in 3 games against ATL this year and a 3.48 ERA. He induces a lot of ground balls and has stranded 76% of Phillies runners.

-Cards must overcome Furcal and Holliday out today. There is hope, however, after the play of Punto and Craig last night.

-Pujols needs to be Pujols today

-Don’t ever run on Bogusevic. EVER

-I love Big Puma (just had to say that)

Let’s go Cards!
